Frequently Asked Questions
How do you handle fact-checking and accuracy?
Accuracy is non-negotiable. I treat your story as if it’s being filed for Canada’s major newspapers — I’ll check names, titles, dates, and sources. If something was said during an interview, I’ll flag it clearly rather than assume. I’ll call out when something is opinion, paraphrase only with your approval, and provide you with a list of the verifiable facts behind each story. What should I expect during the revision process?
You’ll receive a first draft, give me feedback, and I’ll return a second draft with changes incorporated. We’ll discuss anything ambiguous. After that, one final pass (copy-editing/proofreading) and you get the publication-ready version. Unlimited small tweaks before publication, plus one revision is included in the fee. Will you use my style guide or brand voice?
I adapt to your voice — whether that’s formal, conversational, strictly CP Style or more relaxed. If you already have a style guide, send it over. If you don’t, I can help develop one quickly so your writing stays consistent across platforms.
How do you protect confidentiality and sensitive information?
I take your trust seriously. I’m happy to sign NDAs, handle embargoed material, and ensure no information is published or shared without your explicit permission. I can store data securely and delete source files after agreed-upon timelines.
What happens if I’m not satisfied with the end result?”
My goal is your satisfaction. If you believe the work doesn’t meet the agreed scope, I’ll revisit it until it aligns with our plan. If you still feel it falls short, we can discuss a partial refund or an alternative deliverable. Let’s talk openly because the aim is a partnership, not a one-and-done transaction.
